Apple Field Trip

Class 4 pupils enjoyed visiting the Apple Store Trafford to further develop their skills using Apple technologies.

Our first Field Trip visit took place on Wednesday 31st January, when pupils signed up to a workshop aimed at developing their skills when using Garageband. Garageband is a music technology app which pupils use in school, both when working on iPad and our suite of MacBooks.

During the session, the pupils were shown how to make different rhythms and drum beats and began to explore putting together their own compositions using a range of smart instruments. Armed with new knowledge and skills, the children plan to further develop their work over the coming weeks as part of an ambitious project to create a film trailer of the legend that they have been writing in literacy.

On 7th February, our pupils attended our second Apple Field Trip session, which was designed to help develop movie-making skills using iMovie on iPad Pro. The children soon grew into their roles as heroic Greek heroes and beasts and enjoyed filming and sequencing their footage with other movie effects. The results were absolutely brilliant!

We would like to thank the staff at Apple for their support - especially Holly (our field trip contact). Hopefully the children have added some new skills to their growing reportoire, whilst also having a lot of fun too!
