In 2014 we were awarded the prestigious Artsmark award in recognition for the excellent provision we provide across all aspects of the performing and visual arts.
At Nether Alderley Primary School, we value the impact that high-quality learning experiences across the arts can have on pupils' esteem, communication skills and creativity. We recognise that children are individuals and may posses an array of skills across the whole of the curriulum. This enables staff to provide memorable and inspiring learning experiences for pupils, which is supplemented by visits and visitors to school, many of whom inspire pupils with their own experiences. Such visitors include professional dancers, artists, illustrators and musicians.
We value the opportunities to celebrate our pupils work with the school and wider community. Regular exhibitions of pupils' work enables them to proudly share their efforts with families. Each year, through our collaboration with the Fallibroome Academy, pupils showcase their performing arts talents through dance and drama to an appreciative audience. In addition, our annual Key Stage One nativity, School Carol Concert and Key Stage Two summer production also showcases the depth of pupils' performing arts expertise. Alongside this, pupils' musical skills are celebrated through our participation in the annual Wilmslow Music Festival as well as our own School Summer Concert. Pupils also organise their own 'Nether Alderley's Got Talent' show at the end of the academic year where pupils of all ages are invited to audition and perform their acts to the rest of the school.
At Nether Alderley Primary School, we believe that creativity lies at the heart of developing pupils' independence, curiosity and confidence.
