Outdoor Area Redevelopment

For 2021-22, our new project is to update the outdoor and garden areas behind the school.

We have identified four areas to focus upon, bringing some little-used areas into life.

This work will improve the physical environment and also increase the opportunities for the children's outdoor learning and play.

1. Resurface the tarmac play area with a wet-pour rubber surfacing - this will improve the safety of this area and brighten up the environment with new play markings and a colour finish.
2. Develop the area behind the kitchen. This area requires some groundwork, astro turf laying and new seating installing. The children will use the mud kitchen and digging  and sand and water in this area. 
3. Create some raised beds for growing fruit and vegetables. Dig out the beds along the front wall and fit with edging, fill with compost. 
4. Improve/redevelop the gardening area. Demolish the brick structure, remove the beds, level this area and cover with astro turf. This requires clearance, groundwork preparations and fitting out.
