At Nether Alderley Primary School, pupils in KS2 are offered the exciting opportunity to attend residentials with their classmates. This allows the pupils to recognise the benefits of being taken away from their comfort zones and help to develop their personal growth and independence by spending a night, or two nights away from home.
Our residential visits are extremely popular with pupils.
Class 3 residential:
Petty Pool Activity Centre
Every two years, children are offered the opportunity to attend a one-night residential.
In September 2021 the children visited the Petty Pool centre for some outdoor adventurous and team building activity.
Class 4 residentials:
Each year, pupils are invited to attend a three-day residential. We use two activity centres and alternate between them to match our curriculum aims.
The Conway Centre
Set in beautiful grounds on the island of Angelsey, the Conway Centre offers pupils a range of art-based workshops and activities including: dance, drama and art. In addition, pupils sail the Menai Straits with their group leaders and welcome the opportunity to listen to stories by the fire in the wonderful tipee.

Robinwood Activity Centre: Dobroyd Castle Todmorden
For a more adventurous and demanding residential, pupils enjoy the non-stop programme of activities provided by Robinwood Activity Centres. The three-day course is designed to push pupils to the limit - taking them beyond their day-to-day comfort zones on a journey of self-discovery!
